Woodstone Creek started on a farm in Lebanon, Ohio in January of 1999. Two years later, Woodstone moved to a Cincinnati warehouse to become Ohio's first urban winery/distillery. Woodstone Creek is centrally located near downtown Cincinnati at the intersection of I-71, I-75 and the Norwood Lateral - just a few blocks from Xavier University along Dana Avenue in Evanston. This former factory-warehouse-turned-winery is also a meadery and a port house.
The tasting room, once the factory president's paneled office, is open to the public every Saturday. It features a spectacular curved, 1930's maple and mahogany bar, art gallery and handcrafted jewelry. Customers can sample current releases for a small charge and purchase wine to go by the bottle or case. Wine is served in a keepsake wine glass to take home.
As a true artisan winery and boutique distillery, Woodstone Creek produces limited case lots of wine, mead and distilled spirit. Offerings change seasonally - Ohio grape varietal's from dry to sweet, honeywine from local honey, port with our own potstilled brandy and fruit wine from area farms. Woodstone offers an unusual range of mead (7-10) from dry to sweet and fortified dessert wines. Woodstone's potstill produces brandy, honey liquor, five grain bourbon, single malt whisky (peated and unpeated), dark rum, smoky gin, bierschnaaps and vodka. Truly unique - all the fermentation arts come together at Woodstone Creek as our winemaker is a brewmaster, mead mazer and master distiller all in one!
